New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea tested positive for coronavirus.
“He is doing well. He is at home. He runs the department remotely. He is in regular contact with senior personnel,” a senior law enforcement official told The Post.
The city’s top police officer is the latest in the NYPD to test positive for the pandemic virus that has sickened thousands of officers and killed 46 uniformed offices and civilian members of the force.
The NYPD confirmed the news on Twitter.
It was not immediately known if anyone else on the executive staff was in recent contact with the commissioner and had self-quarantined.
