Deontay Wilder Wiki

                          Deontay Wilder Biography

Former boxing champion Deontay Wilder accused WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury of cheating earlier this year when the two men met in a rematch for Wilder’s WBC belt and Fury’s linear heavyweight championship. . Fury stopped Wilder in a one-sided beating that ended after Wilder was knocked down twice in the fight and appeared to be on his way into dangerous territory.

The two fighters appeared to be on their way to a third contract-bound fight over the summer before the COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench into the system that ultimately led to Fury seeking to return to the ring against someone other than Wilder in December. .

Wilder was silent on that move until the 35-year-old American posted a video on social media Saturday accusing Fury of cheating in both fights, the 12-round split tie in 2018 and the knockout victory in the seventh. assault for Fury. in 2020.

“I strongly believe that you put something hard in your glove, something the size and shape of the weight of an egg,” Wilder said. “It’s the reason why the side of my face bulged into an egg shape and it also left a dent in my face.”

You can check out Wilder’s video below.

🤴🏿Fury Be A Man 🖕🏿 @ Tyson_Fury it’s time for you to be a man and fulfill your agreement.
What’s this shit about you fighting Carlos Takam instead of me? You have to be kidding … pic.twitter.com/qeo47CfHi4

You can read a transcript of Wilder’s video below:

The Bible tells us that silence is golden, but my ears can still hear and my eyes can still see. The Bible also tells us to be quick to listen and slow to speak. You see, what you don’t understand, thief, what you did is what my people deal with all the time, someone who tricks them into not bringing their greatness to the world. But it is a burden that we cut just to get stronger. I saw in the first fight, when Ricky Hatton pulled down his gloves, that you put your fist in the wrong position. They all tried the same method the second time, but this time they scratched the flesh on my ears, causing my ears to bleed. There is no way a new 10 ounce glove will bend, maintain a squashed shape … I firmly believe that you put something hard in your glove, something the size and shape of the weight of an egg. It is the reason why the side of my face bulged into an egg shape and also left a dent in my face. But in the midst of it all, you still couldn’t suppress this king. You should have killed me. In the end, it took shit in the referred bucket and a disloyal coach to throw in the towel just to stop me… Revenge is coming.

Among the biggest revelations in the video are that Wilder believes that Fury loaded his gloves in both fights somehow with “egg weights,” that Wilder turned down more money to fight Anthony Joshua in 2018 in a super fight that would have crowned the first weight. indisputable heavy. boxing champion since Lennox Lewis, and that Wilder still seems to have a big dent in the side of his head from his last fight.

Wilder Still Wants Third Fight Against Fury

Despite accusing Fury of cheating in both fights, Wilder still wants a third fight. Wilder also used his Twitter platform to appeal to Fury’s sense of justice about making the third fight happen.

Wilder posted: “@Tyson_Fury, it’s time for you to be a man and honor your agreement. What is this shit about you fighting Carlos Takam instead of me? You got to be kidding… “.

Wilder went on to remind Fury that he gave the British fighter a chance to compete for his title after the 32-year-old returned from the depths of addiction and depression.

“When you were going through your darkest moment, I told you that if you recovered, I would give you a shot at the title. Being a man of my word, I gave you the opportunity for the title… ”, published Wilder.

“When that fight was a draw, I told them I would give them a rematch. You know I was offered more money to fight Joshua than to fight you. Being a man of my word again, I fought with you like I said I would… ”, published Wilder.

Finally, Wilder believes that the rematch agreement has yet to be honored.

“In the rematch deal, there was a rematch clause. Now is the time for you to be a man and keep your word, rather than trying to mock our agreement. Scared people run, but a scary man will break his contract, you coward, Azz B ** čh! “Wilder posted.

Boxing World Reacts to Wilder’s Accusations

The boxing community on Twitter did not appear to side with Wilder on the content of his posts. Athletic’s Mike Coppinger pointed out that Wilder had basically gone with the internet conspiracy theory as to why he lost the fight even though there was no actual evidence. Coppinger also pointed to Wilder’s blow to former coach Mark Breland, whom Wilder called “unfair” for stopping the fight.

Wilder also repeats the internet conspiracy theory that Tyson Fury tampered with his gloves, for which there is no evidence. He also calls recently fired coach Mark Breland “disloyal” for throwing in the towel https://t.co/OtrB7mvdXs

Unified 140-pound champion Josh Taylor called Wilder’s video the “most embarrassing thing” he had “seen and heard come out of a fighter’s mouth after a loss.”

Woohoo ! I think this is the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen and heard coming out of a fighter’s mouth after a loss 🙈 What a turkey! https://t.co/cmHdHIOVIz

TalkSport’s Michael Benson took an hour to process everything and he still didn’t know what to say.

I had an hour to digest that Deontay Wilder video now. Still lost for words.

Promoter Eddie Hearn focused solely on the part where Wilder admitted he was offered the fight with Joshua. Hearn promotes Joshua, so the sea change in Wilder’s narrative that that fight never happened was probably something he was happy to see.

I thought AJ dodged you. 🥴 https://t.co/GaJIN7ak6v

Fury did not immediately respond to Wilder, but had already responded to the charged glove theory in June.

Fury said: “This is just a quick video to tackle all this talk of foul play from Deontay Wilder and his team,” Fury said. “I just read an article that says I might have had some blunt objects in my gloves. Yeah, two … 275 pound destroyers [Fury’s fists] in each glove. So yeah, getting punched in the temple can do that to you. “
