The sheriff’s office reports that the investigation began on May 19 when lawmakers responded to a victim in the hospital attack. According to OCSO, the victim informed lawmakers of a dispute with the suspect the day before.

The victim claimed that the suspect told her to stay inside her and threatened to point a knife at her throat and threaten to kill her according to the court order.
The orders also state that the victim was shot in the face and body.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that lawmakers arrested Daniel Denney, 49, for kidnapping, high and aggravated domestic violence, possession of a weapon in a violent crime and illegal detention.
Denney is currently being held at the Oconee County Detention Center, according to OCSO.
