Who is  Daniel Auster?

 The son of New York writer Paul Auster was arrested on involuntary manslaughter charges after his 10-month-old baby died of a drug overdose last November.

Daniel Auster’s daughter, Ruby, was found dead in her Park Slope home.

The baby was taken to Methodist Hospital, but nothing could be done to save her life.

An autopsy found that the boy had died from an overdose of fentanyl and heroin.

Police have so far been unable to say how the girl was exposed to the drugs while she was in the care of her 44-year-old father, but Auster was charged with involuntary manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide Friday night.
