Dane Pfeiffer Biography
Who is Dane Pfeiffer ?
A New York State trooper who was reassigned to the Canadian border after it was discovered he was in a relationship with the daughter of deposed Governor Andrew Cuomo, got a promotion.
Dane Pfeiffer, 35, has been promoted to New York State Police Sergeant and assigned to New York City beginning Thanksgiving.
Pfeiffer entered into a relationship with Cara Kennedy-Cuomo, 25, in early 2020 when he was part of her father’s security team in Albany and she had moved into the Executive Mansion during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the sources.
Due to a sexual harassment scandal, Cuomo is no longer Pfeiffer’s boss.
People familiar with the matter told the New York Post that the governor discovered the couple were dating soon after and that Pfeiffer was removed from his security team and flown 160 miles away to a state police station in Plattsburgh.
State police said the police officer requested a ‘voluntary transfer’ on May 24, 2020 to join Troop B in Northeast New York, however sources claim he was sent as punishment and ‘to keep him away from the daughter’.
A law enforcement source said Pfeiffer’s relationship with the governor’s daughter broke “dignitary protection protocol,” meaning she could no longer serve in Cuomo’s security detail.
However, the policeman’s actions were not classified as misconduct and were not recorded as an official disciplinary matter, they said.
That said, the governor was apparently unhappy with the relationship between the two and Pfeiffer was posted just 25 miles south of Canada.
“[Pfeiffer] was transferred to keep him away from the daughter because the governor did not like what they were doing,” said a source.
Pfeiffer, who attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, near Albany in upstate New York, played tennis while studying at school.
He was so good that he ended up competing in two tournaments abroad, according to school records.
Pfeiffer reportedly lives in Saratoga Springs, which means he’s been slapped on a 260-mile drive to Plattsburgh.
The sources called the relocation of the police officer “road therapy,” a tactic in which officers have to commute for a long time as informal punishment.
“[Cuomo] is limited in how much he can fuck with him, so road therapy is one of his few options,” the source told the Post.
Despite the distance, the couple are reportedly unable to stay apart and Pfeiffer often visits the Executive Mansion to take Cara on dates despite the disapproval of his father, a source said.
State police say the transfer is “routine” and occurred at the request of the police himself.
‘Trooper Pfeiffer applied for a voluntary transfer to Troop B [in May 2020], stating that he wanted to gain more field experience and advance his career to the rank of sergeant,’ the New York State Police told DailyMail.com at a statement.
“These requests are routine and they were granted.”
Pfeiffer began his career at Troop B upon graduating from the State Police Academy in 2015.
Pfeiffer’s grandmother was even interviewed about the courtship and Cuomo’s apparent attempts to break them up.
‘Dane has always been a wonderful, charming, kind and considerate person,’ Marianne Pfeiffer told The New York Post in November 2020. ‘I think he’s being ridiculous, because he’s always been a good friend of the family and a good friend. from Danish. ‘
Cuomo has often made jokes about his daughter Mariah’s love interest, but hasn’t mentioned that Cara is in a relationship.
Earlier this month, he tweeted a photo of himself sitting around the table with his three daughters: Cara, his twin Mariah and Michaela, 23.
Cuomo was apparently joking about Mariah’s boyfriend, Tellef Lundevall, 29, and a spokesperson told The Post: ‘We like the boyfriend.
Days later, he continued the joke in an appearance on ‘The Late Show’.
“Let’s say the groom is no longer with us,” he said before laughing.
In April, Cuomo said Lundevall was “very nice” before launching into advising other parents that they should always say “I like the boyfriend.”
‘The answer to what you think of the boyfriend is always:’ I like the boyfriend ‘. Always, ” he said during one of his daily press conferences when he strayed from the coronavirus to what to do when her daughter brings her suitor for Sunday dinner.
“In this case, I like the boyfriend,” she said.
She warned of a syndrome called ‘NDS’ if parents oppose their daughters’ mate choices.
“NDS is natural challenge syndrome,” she said.
‘It is not documented, but it is a psychological condition in which if you say as a father:’ I do not like it ‘, the Natural Defiance Syndrome appears and then they like the boyfriend more because the father opposes him,’ she said. he said she at the time.
He later reinforced that he likes “the boyfriend” but that his Scout dog “doesn’t.”
The move did not end the couple’s relationship, as Pfeiffer frequently returned to the Executive Mansion to pick up Kennedy-Cuomo for dates, infuriating the former governor, according to a source.
It is unclear if the two are still dating.
