Mr. Markcrow and Ms. Sawyer were arrested after police raided properties in Mount Gravatt East and South Brisbane on Thursday.

Police attorney Sgt. Mark Hughes told the court that Ms. Sawyer was at the address with the women during one of the police searches.
“During the search warrant, Sawyer told the other girls that she was ‘like a mother,'” Sgt. Hughes said.
“The police observed during the search that the other girls were following Sawyer’s example … they showed some degree of control over the other girls.”
The court heard that Ms Sawyer had refused to give the password to a phone and laptop seized by the police.
Sergeant Hughes told the court that Mrs. Sawyer and Mr. Markcrow were on an affair and that he would “take care of everything” when he saw him at the guardhouse.
But defense attorney Lily Berkeley said there was no concrete evidence that Ms. Sawyer was involved and the charges were filed “a little too early.”
She said her client could meet strict bail requirements, including an order not to contact any witnesses.
Judge Stephen Courtney said the charges against Mr. Mackrow were “particularly in bad taste” but should focus on Ms. Sawyer’s charges and crimes in court.
She was released on bail on the condition that she did not contact witnesses and report to the police twice a week.
Detective Inspector Juliet Hancock told the Prostitution Control Task Force that she received a tip late last year.
“This investigation is still ongoing,” she said.
Hancock said police were investigating whether there were other alleged victims and encouraged anyone with more information to come forward.
Mr. Markcrow was arrested on an extradition warrant and will appear in court again on February 24.
