Craig Melville Biography
A 16-year-old boy was photographed who died in an accident in which a 15-year-old girl was also seriously injured.
The boy, locally named Craig Melville, had been a rear passenger in a blue Audi RS4 that crashed into a wall on the B9176 known as Struie Road, Fyrish around 9:35 a.m. of Saturday.
The vehicle was driven near Alness by a 39-year-old man who remains in hospital and a 15-year-old girl who was fighting for her life.
A 22-year-old woman was also injured, but she was released from the hospital, reports the Daily Record.
Police requested potentially critical surveillance cameras in the Scottish Highlands after the incident and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The road was closed for several hours while collision investigators investigated the scene.
The blue Audi RS4 drove west on the B817 and turned right onto the B9176. Scottish police say he lost control and hit a wall at the intersection of the Fyrian substation.
Emergency services intervened and the 16-year-old was pronounced dead immediately.
Cause of Death
Scottish Police Sgt. David Miller said: “We asked all other road users who were in the area at the time of the accident to contact us. Have you seen a blue Audi, have you been on the road?
“Any little information could be of vital importance for our investigation.
“In particular, we ask drivers who are equipped with dash cameras to review their photos, as they may have taken a photo that could help us.
The vehicle was traveling west on the B817 when it turned right onto the B9176 and apparently lost control and collided with a wall at the intersection of the Fyrian substation.
An ambulance arrived and a 16-year-old man was immediately pronounced dead.
