Corrie McKeague Wiki
A missing aviator reportedly died drunk at a party after entering a garbage can that was emptied into a truck. This was the result of an investigation
Corrie McKeague disappeared after a night out in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, in the early hours of September 24, 2016.
Although no trace of McKeague was found, Suffolk Chief Coroner Nigel Parsley said he “died in Suffolk jurisdiction in September 2016.”
Suffolk Police Acting Superintendent Marina Ericson said McKeague believes she died after entering a Greggs dumpster that was thrown into a Biffa garbage truck.
“Witnesses say that Corrie drank so much alcohol during the night that she got very drunk and was asked to leave the Flex nightclub,” added Ms. Ericson.
“Witnesses also described him as happy and friendly all night.”
McKeague, who was from Dunfermline, Fife, was last seen alive in CCTV footage at 3:25 a.m. when he entered a horseshoe-shaped area on Brentgovel Street.
This area is behind a Superdrug and Greggs store and contains several industrial trash containers.
Ericson said the industrial containers were collected at 4:19 on the same morning.
At the time, Greggs’ container weighed 116 kg, “which was 70 to 80 kg more than its average weight,” he says.
Corrie’s cell phone connected to the internet sent a signal from there that showed the garbage truck moving toward the Barton Mills roundabout.
“At this point, the mobile operator has lost the signal.”
Ms. Ericson added: “Despite a police investigation and search, there has been no evidence of life since Corrie’s last sighting on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 3:25 am.
The coroner said, “Based on the evidence I have heard, I will open an investigation into Corrie’s tragic death.”
The hearing in Ipswich opened on Friday and has been postponed. A preliminary review hearing is scheduled for February 5.
McKeague’s mother, Nicola Urquhart, who previously requested an investigation for her son, said she was “extremely optimistic that this will give us some answers.”
Her father, Martin McKeague, added: “This will reveal the truth to the public.
“There are no secrets. We did not find any news here.
“The facts and the evidence they have provided us tell us that is exactly what happened to him.
