Who is Christopher Collins ?

A Texas woman was found dead two days after she signed a $ 250,000 life insurance policy, and her husband has been charged with her murder, according to police.

Christopher Collins, 41, was charged with the death of his wife, Yuan Hua Liang, after her body was found inside his home in Cypress on November 18.

Investigation

Police said Collins did “everything he could” to convince investigators that intruders killed his wife at her Clayton Bluff home in the Houston area.

Prosecutors say the military veteran killed his wife just two days after Liang signed a $ 250,000 police life insurance.

Liang, 46, was found to have a single gunshot wound to the head, coroners said.

Authorities believe the bullet was fired from a .22 or .25 caliber firearm.

Collins allegedly told officers that his wife had bought her a .9mm. pistol, but he added that he had no ammunition.

However, officers later found a .22mm cartridge inside Collins’ pocket.

A cloth bag that was placed over his head was determined to have been placed there after his death, according to an autopsy.

Report

The agents added that a neighbor reported overhearing an argument from the house on the same day that authorities discovered Liang’s body.

Police also noted that four dogs were found unharmed in the couple’s backyard.

A police report says Collins called Harris County sheriff’s deputies to request a welfare check from his wife.

Collins called the non-emergency hotline around 3:15 p.m. for a wellness check after claiming that she had received a text message from Liang about someone breaking into her home while working out at a nearby gym and went to get something to eat, he said. police according to Click2Houston.

“The person he called reported that he lost contact with his wife, shortly after she reported a suspicious man near her residence,” the police report says.

“The deputy entered the residence with the husband and they discovered the deceased wife, inside the house.”wikipedia

Court documents state that Collins “paused at the door, dropped his suitcases and ran into the living room where he found Liang lying on the floor with blood visible on his shirt and a bag covering his head.” reported KHOU.

‘(There were) no signs of forced entry into the house from the inside. Officers observed that the back door was open and that there were four dogs in the backyard, ” said a prosecutor in the case.

However, investigators said they found no signs of forced entry or a break-in, and that nothing had been stolen from the home, according to the report.

Collins has owned the home for the past eight years, authorities said.

He is being held on $ 150,000 bond and is expected to appear in court for the first time on Monday.

When officers asked why he didn’t check the home’s surveillance cameras, Collins said there was no recording and the cameras only captured a live broadcast.

He allegedly told police that he used cameras to monitor his wife whenever she worked out of the country, according to KHOU.

Collins also told police that he did not return home immediately, claiming his wife had paranoid tendencies, and his husband told dispatchers that the welfare check “was probably nothing.”
