Christian Mandeville Biography
An Oregon man was arrested by US intelligence for entering Washington DC, the residence of the Swiss ambassador to the United States, and attacking him.
According to NBC 4 reporter Scott MacFarlane, the incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Monday when intelligence agents were called to a report of an “undesirable guest” at the residence of Ambassador Jacques Pitteloud.
The person identified by authorities as Christian Mandeville reportedly refused to leave the scene.
The rescuer noted that he had spoken with Pitteloud and other staff members to get an idea of the situation before entering the home.
When Christian Mandeville entered the residence with the ambassador, he “tried to go further into the building.”
“The ambassador wanted to arrest Christian Mandeville, but Mandeville used his weapons to lay down the ambassador’s arms,” the intelligence agent said.
Mandeville then used his body to push the ambassador. His actions made the ambassador back down, ”added the agent.
Authorities said another employee was also attacked by the suspect when he was arrested by the employee. Documents show that Mandeville pushed the employee who tried to prevent him from entering the home.
The ambassador and staff were not injured.
When the officer tried to arrest Mandeville, he allegedly resisted and fought with the officer.
The officer said that he had received help from other officers and that they could finally arrest Mandeville. However, the officer said that he suffered bruises to his forearm as a result of the altercation.
According to the Swiss embassy, the suspect was initially denied entry, but jumped an outside fence and entered.
Documents also showed that Mandeville left a backpack in front of the property’s gate and ordered officers to evacuate the area while the bag was examined. We still don’t know what was in the bag.
Authorities accused Mandeville of attacking a foreign official, resisting arrest and trespassing.
