Christian Hall Biography
Christian Hall was shot and killed by the Pennsylvania State Police in Monroe County. The incident was videotaped, but lawyers for his family say the footage does not support what the police said about what happened.
“Needed help. He was looking for help, but instead of getting help, he was killed by those who were supposed to help him, ”said Fe Hall. Faith Hall is the mother of Christian Hall.
The 19-year-old was shot and killed by state police in December on the overpass to Interstate 80 in Hamilton Township, following reports of a distraught man with a gun on the bridge.

Shot and killed by state police
“He needed help,” said his mother, Faith Hall. “He was looking for help, but instead of getting help, he was killed by those who were supposed to help him.”
Hall was shot and killed by state police Dec. 30 on the overpass to Interstate 80 in Hamilton Township after reports of a distraught man with a gun on the bridge.
Police say that at one point during the negotiations, Hall was reluctant to cooperate and pointed the gun in the direction of the officers. State police shot and beat Hall.
Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, who has been representing the family of George Floyd, the man killed by police in Minnesota, says a video circulating online shows a different story. Crump says in the video, it appears that Hall had his hands up and the police fired anyway.
“He was having a crisis. There is a suggestion that he was considering suicide. He was crying out for help, ”Crump said. “Christian Hall needed a helping hand, but nevertheless he took bullets while he had his hands up.”
Attorneys for the Hall family are requesting that the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office investigate the shooting.
“This needs a completely independent appearance. These cops, while they are state cops, the fact is that they work with the local police and local prosecutors to prosecute their cases. It is simply impossible to have an independent investigation when investigating the people he works with every day. This should go to Attorney General Josh Shapiro, ”said Devon Jacob, an attorney for the Hall family.
State police confirm that the officers involved in the shooting recently returned to work, although the investigation is ongoing between the state police and the Monroe County district attorney’s office.
In a statement sent to Newswatch 16, the district attorney’s office says, in part, “No one from Mr. Hall’s legal team has contacted us at all. They didn’t tell us that the lawyers were holding a press conference today. We have not been asked to provide any information related to this matter. We are still waiting for certain reports and results before making a final decision. ”
The attorney general’s office says they have not been requested, and under Pennsylvania law the attorney general’s office does not have jurisdiction to investigate this matter unless referred to by the Monroe County district attorney.
