Who was Christian Bagley?
A POTENTIAL key witness has been identified in the 2015 murder investigation of Hereford man Christian Bagley.
On the seventh anniversary of his death, detectives investigating the murder of Christian Bagley are making a direct appeal to a possible witness, an Audi driver, to contact the investigation team.
Christian, 30, was stabbed while walking under Hunderton Bridge in Hereford on his father’s day, Sunday June 21, 2015.
At that time, a murder investigation was launched and so far several people have been arrested and released without charge, but officials have not given up the search for his killer.
As investigations continue, officers are eager to speak to the driver of a dark-tinted Audi A4 Avant B8 model, manufactured between 2008 and 2016. The vehicle was seen driving between Sainsbury’s and ASDA between 10:37 p.m. m. and 10:50 p.m. m. the night of Christian’s murder. .
Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Leighton Harding, who is leading the investigation, said: “It has been seven years since Christian was fatally stabbed in Hereford and during this time we have continued to investigate his murder.
“However, despite significant progress being made in our investigation and several people arrested, to date, no one has been brought to justice for his murder. I am absolutely committed to ensuring that Christian’s family finds out what happened to him that fateful night and to bringing those responsible for his murder to justice, which is why I am making an additional direct appeal today.
“We have viewed hours and hours of CCTV footage and have identified a vehicle that was seen traveling between Sainsbury’s and ASDA stores in Hereford between 10:37 p.m. m. and 10:50 p.m. m. the night of Christian’s murder. The vehicle is believed to be a dark-tinted Audi A4 Avant B8 model, manufactured between 2008 and 2016.
“At 10:37 p.m. m., the vehicle travels along Eign Street from the direction of A49 Victoria Street towards Sainsbury’s in Barton Place. The vehicle exits shortly after and is seen again driving in and out of the forecourt of the nearby Shell service station on Whitecross Road. The vehicle travels back along Eign Street towards A49 Victoria Street and is seen again at 10:47 p.m. m. stopping at ASDA’s main parking lot, Belmont Road.
The male driver got out of the car and approached the store entrance, which was closed at the time. It is believed that he saw another person walking near the store, with whom he may have spoken briefly before returning to the vehicle and driving away.
“I want the driver of this vehicle to contact us or Crimestoppers as he may have important information that could help the investigation. I would like to offer my assurances to the driver that in no way do I believe he was involved in Christian’s murder, but he may be a key witness and have information that may help our investigation.
“I recognize that the passage of time makes it difficult for people to remember where they were and what they were doing, however I hope that posting details of the Audi, CCTV footage of the driver’s movements and description of the driver’s activities on ASDA will help. activate their memory and cause them to communicate with the investigation team.”
Coinciding with the anniversary of Christian’s murder, Crimestoppers is offering a £20,000 reward.
DCI Harding added: “I know there will be people with information about Christian’s murder and I understand they may not want to talk to the police. If you have information on Christian’s murder, please pass it on to Crimestoppers.
