The student was fined £ 6,000 for violating quarantine rules after posting her photo on her food on Instagram.
Carys Ann Ingram, 22, was not quarantined when she arrived in Manchester, Jersey.
Ingram traveled to Jersey on October 12 to visit her family and did not self-quarantine.
Three days after arriving from Manchester, which was Amber’s neighborhood at the time, he was seen shopping at St. Helier.
The person sitting next to her on the flight was later discovered to have a positive Covid-19 test and was contacted and asked to isolate herself.
They also told him that he had to take another test eight days after arriving in Jersey.
Authorities made several attempts to contact her at her home, but received no response.
Ingram is caught four times for violating quarantine measures. Whenever he ate in a restaurant, he went to a friend’s house and went shopping and was not at home when the authorities visited him.
Ingram shared a photo of herself on social media at El Tico restaurant in St. Ouen Bay.
He was eventually contacted by phone by the contact information monitoring team and arrested.
The 22-year-old pleads guilty to two infractions of the self-isolation rules and was fined a total of £ 6,600.
Caroline Maffia, director of monitoring, surveillance and respect for liaisons, said: “It is regrettable that someone endangers the health of other islanders after being informed of the need to isolate themselves.
“This fine shows that we are prosecuting those who break the law.
“Anyone identified as a direct point of contact for COVID-positive individuals must understand the importance of public health advice and law enforcement.
