Who is Carl Roy Webb Boards II ?
A suspect is in custody after he allegedly shot and killed an officer during a traffic stop Sunday morning.
Initial reports from Indiana State Police detectives say that around 2 a.m. m., the officer stopped traffic in a 2012 Buick LaCrosse near the intersection of State Road 37 and County Road 1100N in Madison County.
The suspect got out of the Buick and fired multiple times, hitting the officer at least once before fleeing the scene, according to authorities.
Responding officers from the Elwood Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department located the injured officer and administered life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived.
The officer, later identified as Noah Shahnavaz
The officer, later identified as Noah Shahnavaz, 24, of Fishers, Indiana, was transported by ambulance to Ascension St. Vincent Mercy and then by helicopter to an Indianapolis-area hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Shahnavaz was a five-year veteran of the United States Army and has proudly served the Elwood community for the past 11 months, authorities said.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department located the Buick and attempted to initiate a traffic stop around 2:30 a.m. m. Sheriff’s deputies continued to pursue the vehicle after the driver failed to stop.
After multiple pinning tactics, the vehicle got stuck in the median barrier wall and was pinned down. Responding officers were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident, authorities said.
Suspect
The suspect was identified as Carl Roy Webb Boards II, 42, of Anderson, Indiana.
Preliminary charges for Webb include murder, possession of a firearm by a violent felon and resisting law enforcement.
He is being held in the Hamilton County Jail without bond.
