How old is Brandon Scott Hole ?
The FedEx shooter identified himself as 19-year-old Brandon Scott Hole.
According to a police report, Hole was arrested on March 3, 2020, when police “confiscated a dangerous person’s shotgun,” local station WTHR-TV reported.
“The behavioral health unit initiated immediate arrest,” according to the report.
Hole had bought the shotgun shortly before he was arrested and taken to the hospital, according to the report.A search of Hole’s room after his arrest turned up some items that prompted federal agents to question him, Keenan said without elaborating on what was found.
But the FBI ultimately determined that no crime had been committed, nor that Hole had been talking about some racially motivated idology. The shotgun was not returned, authorities said.
Authorities said the killer was last employed by FedEx in 2020. The company confirmed his previous employment.
A body is taken from the scene where multiple people were shot at a FedEx Ground facility in Indianapolis on April 16, 2021.
Authorities are still struggling to find out why Hole opened fire with a rifle at the plant near Indianapolis International Airport, killing eight and wounding five others.
“I wish we could answer that,” Deputy Chief Craig McCartt said when asked about why.
At a press conference Friday afternoon, authorities said Hole had also been arrested earlier in 2013. It was unclear for what.
“The local and federal authorities were aware of Hole and his potential for violence.”
Police still don’t know why Hole killed eight people with a gun and wounded five others around 11 p.m. Thursday.
“We recently identified it, and now the work is really beginning. We’re trying to see if we can find a reason, but we don’t have it yet, “Deputy Chief Craig McCartt told a newspaper, televised Friday afternoon, conference.
It was not even known where Hole got the rifle he used at the factory near the Indianapolis International Airport.
“At the time of the accident, there were at least 100 people at the facility. … A lot of people would change shifts and just take their lunch break, ”McCartt said.
The dead have not yet been identified, police said.
“Crime Lab is still here, ending the scene,” McCartt said. “He is working closely with the coroner’s office. We are now at the point where we can identify the victims, send notifications to the family, and then hopefully complete the processing of this crime scene shortly.”
Authorities had previously been warned against Hole in 2020 when his mother told police that she feared a police officer would kill him.
But the FBI did not ultimately determine that a crime had been committed or that Hole was speaking of a racist ideology. The rifle was not returned to him, authorities said.
