The Union Academy Charter School issued a statement following news of the accident.
“Union Academy’s first priority is to care for and protect our students and employees. Police released details of the death of one of our teachers, Barney Dale Harris II, this morning, ”the statement said. The Union Academy family was shocked and devastated when they heard the information, and will continue to focus on helping our families of students. All inquiries related to the investigation should be directed to the police. ”
Harris and Lara were involved in two separate criminal operations, according to detectives with the sheriff’s office. The sheriff said Lara was a drug dealer for the next-generation Sinaloa cartel and the trailer was rumored to be the hideout.
Harris and a group of people are believed to have been in the home stealing drugs and money, leading to the shooting that killed Harris and Lara, detectives said. During the investigation, the sheriff’s office said it had seized 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, five firearms and about $ 7,000 in cash.
