Austin Lyle Biography

Denver police have identified a 17-year-old boy who they say shot two workers at his school during a daily weapons search he was ordered to submit to.

Austin Lyle remains at large after the shooting Wednesday morning at East High School in the Colorado city.

He was last seen driving a red 2005 Volvo XC90 SUV with Colorado license plate BSCW10.

Lyle is just 5’5 tall, weighs 150 pounds and was wearing a green hoodie at the time of the shooting, which left one of the two victims critically ill.

They were beaten while conducting a daily search on Lyle.

School officials say Lyle had to submit to the daily weapons check due to “prior behavior.” Few additional details have been given about that earlier behavior.

But The Denver Post reported that Wednesday’s shooting was the first time Lyle had brought a weapon to school.

Suspect

After firing several rounds from a pistol, he fled the scene and is now at large.

We are looking for the suspect.

“We will find that suspect and hold him accountable for his actions this morning in putting everyone in danger and certainly injuring the two staff members who were doing their jobs and trying to keep everyone safe at the time,” the mayor said. Michael. Hancock.

One of the staff members is in stable condition, but the other is in critical condition.

“One is in surgery right now, the other is stable and able to speak and give statements about what happened,” Hancock said.

The students were in third grade classes at the time.

Shooting

The shooting comes just a month after a school student was shot on campus.

Luis García died in the hospital as a result of his injuries.

Two minors are in custody for his death.

Following this, students from the school stormed the town hall demanding a change in gun laws.

In a statement, Mayor Hancock said, “Another act of senseless gun violence rocked the East High School community this morning and my heart goes out to each and every student, staff member and parent.”

Our schools must be free of violence. Period. Parents are angry and frustrated and have a right to be.

“Easy access to guns needs to be addressed in our country; Denver cannot do this alone.”
