Ragusa claimed that he sustained injuries after a fall in 2013 while working as an electrician, according to his disability claim form.
He claimed that his injuries were so severe that it was difficult for him to bend down to put on his shoes, walk for more than 15 minutes and sit for more than 30 minutes, which prevented him from working.
However, he collected the benefits until 2020 even though he still owns and earns income from a limousine business in New Hyde Park on Long Island.
Anthony Ragusa Wife
His wife, a professional bodybuilder Loly Ragusa, posted multiple photos and videos of him lifting heavy weights on her social media accounts and even tagged her White Star limo business on them – accounts believed to belong to his show.
DailyMail.com has contacted a private defense attorney that Ragusa has retained for further information and comment.
“Disability benefits exist to help those who need a safety net when their bodies cannot meet daily obligations,” James said in the press release.
“While cheating the state out of thousands of dollars, Anthony Ragusa was at the same time running a business and posing for photos of his bodybuilding on the Internet.” James called his alleged crime “an embarrassing slap in the face to those who actually live with disabilities” and “a huge waste of taxpayer dollars.”
“My office will not hesitate to go after those who defraud our system and burden our state with debt,” he said.

Disability Anthony Ragusa
Ragusa told the New York Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance that he was so seriously injured while working as an electrician in 2013 that he was unable to work or perform his daily activities. While collecting disability benefits, Ragusa operated a limousine company in New Hyde Park and posted photos and videos on social media showing him lifting heavy weights, James said.
“Disability benefits exist to help those who need a safety net when their bodies cannot meet daily obligations,” said James. “While cheating the state out of thousands of dollars, Anthony Ragusa was at the same time running a business and posing for photos of his bodybuilding on the Internet.”
Prosecutors say Ragusa said when he filed for disability benefits in 2013 that injuries from a fall that year made it difficult for him to bend down to put on shoes, walk for more than 15 minutes, or sit for more than 30 minutes. Ragusa also claimed that the pain from his injuries prevented her from working.
State Department of Transportation documents and minutes from a 2012 municipal hearing.
However, he indicated that Ragusa was the president and owner of White Star Limousines in New Hyde Park.
Videos and photos posted to his Instagram account show that Ragusa began competing as a bodybuilder in 2017.
