They managed to track the suspect via cell phone pings to a hotel and Interstate 75, reported Fox19.
Brown was arrested after a brief police chase.
Officers in Fairfield Township revealed that two people were shot during an attempted store robbery in Hamilton around 8 p.m. Thursday local time.
One shopper died while the other victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Suspect
The suspect had fled the store when police arrived on the scene.
Witnesses reportedly told police the suspect tried to steal items from the electronics section of the store.
A shopper tried to stop Brown, but he ran to the front of the store, police said.
Dawson Irwin told WLWT: “I didn’t really see it all clearly. I know it was a worker who was shot in the stomach area.
“I ran back to my car. It was kind of weird because the Texas thing just happened, speaking of which.
“And then this happened here. It’s weird. It’s crazy to think about it.”
And, Fairfield Township Captain Doug Lanier said, “I can’t even begin to understand or speak for the people who were working or shopping here when this happened.”
It is not known if Brown has been charged.
