Angela Pride Biography
Angela Pride is best known as the daughter of Charley Pride, an American singer, musician, guitarist, business owner, and professional baseball player. The legendary baritone singer broke barriers as the first black country superstar and the first black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Pride reportedly died on December 12, 2020 in Dallas, Texas, due to complications from COVID-19. She was 86 years old.

Angela Pride’s parents Charley Pride and Rozene met while playing baseball in Memphis. They were married in 1956 while Pride was on Christmas vacation from Army basic education and had two sons, Kraig and Dion, and a daughter, Angela. They lived in Dallas, Texas.
Kraig now uses the name Carlton and somehow followed in his father’s footsteps as a performance artist. His band Carlton Pride and Zion started in San Marcos, Texas in 1995 and they perform a variety of reggae, funk and soul music in the United States. Charley Pride Death & Cause
Charley Pride died on Saturday, December 12, from complications caused by COVID-19, according to a statement from journalist Jeremy Westby. He was 86 years old. While it is unclear whether Pride’s COVID-19 contract is tied to the CMA Awards, the Country Music Association was criticized at the time as it continued in a live, face-to-face, mostly mask-less, ceremony at one venue indoors in Nashville. During a week of rising coronavirus in Music City Center, Tennessee (the state reported the highest single-day rise four days ago with 5,071 new cases).
His proud wife, Ebby Rozene Cohran Pride, had four brothers, three children, five grandchildren, and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the Pride family, Jesuit College Preparatory School, St. Philips School and Community Center seek Honors Scholarship donations from the Food Bank or another charity of their choice. Upon hearing news of the death of the leading country artist, fans and friends took to social media to mourn and pay tribute.
