Andy Scholes Wiki

                                                  Andy Scholes  Biography

CNN sports reporter Andy Scholes was forced to apologize for comments he made live Tuesday about the horrific car accident involving the 15-time Major winner.

Woods, 45, had to be hacked from the rubble before undergoing emergency surgery on his right leg, ankle and foot after his SUV rolled over several times in Los Angeles Tuesday morning.Scholes immediately drew parallels between the accident and Woods’ infamous DUI arrest in 2017, where he was caught behind the wheel with five types of drugs in his system.

This week’s accident is still under investigation, but deputies said there were no signs that Woods was affected and that they did not field-sobriety him.

“Amazed, I guess, but not entirely surprised by what we’re seeing here,” Scholes told host Brianna Keilar.

‘Tiger, in 2017, was found by police stopped on the side of the road, asleep in his car.

“ He said that he had taken a lot of pain relievers at that time because we all know that Tiger has undergone many surgeries over the years and pain relievers have become a part of his life. ”

Scholes faced backlash on social media for mentioning substance abuse in Woods ‘past, while the extent of Woods’ injuries was still unclear.

One viewer criticized his comments as “disgusting” and “completely insensitive.”

“ I think it was completely insensitive that in the breaking news about the Tigers accident the first thing you mentioned was his past injuries, painkillers and alcohol. It was disgusting, ‘they wrote.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva doubled down on Tuesday saying: ‘There was no evidence of deterioration. There was no effort to draw blood or anything like that. ‘

He added that the car was traveling “faster than normal” but said the crash site is a black spot for vehicle accidents.

“That area has a high accident frequency,” he said.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department does not perform blood tests at the crash site, but investigators will test whether the golf star had drugs or alcohol in his system as a matter of course.

Woods was infamously arrested for DUI near his home in Palm Beach County, Florida, in 2017.

The golf star, who had undergone spinal fusion surgery a few weeks earlier in an attempt to save her sports career, was found asleep at the wheel of her car.

It was later revealed that Woods had five prescription drugs in his system at the time: hydrocodone, an opioid pain reliever; Hydromorphone, another pain reliever; Alprazolam, a medicine for anxiety; Zolpidem, a sleep medicine; and Delta-9 carboxy THC, which is found in marijuana.

WHAT INJURIES DOES TIGER WOODS HAVE?

Anish Mahajan, medical director of the Harbor-UCLA hospital where Woods is being treated, revealed that he has suffered “comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower tibia and fibula bones.”

That means the bones, more commonly known as the tibia and calf, have been splintered into more than two pieces and pierced through the skin.
Woods also suffered “additional injuries to the bones of his foot and ankle,” Mahajan said, without elaborating.

To treat the injuries, Mahajan said a metal rod was inserted into Woods’ tibia, which is being stabilized with rods and pins.

Additional screws and pins have been inserted into his foot and ankle, Mahajan added.

The membranes covering Woods’ leg muscles were also cut to relieve pressure on the leg from inflammation, he said.

He described the injuries as “serious” and could not give a prognosis or say if Woods will be able to play golf again.
