Police followed Teague for more than an hour. During an escape attempt, Teague drove in the wrong direction on I-270 and eventually collided head-on with two other vehicles within a few minutes.

Arrested and Charged

The 18-year-old son, identified by NYPD as Saadiq Teague, was blown up by NYPD officers with an AK-47 assault rifle and a face mask in the Times Square subway station on Friday. in the afternoon.

Saadiq, who lives in Ohio, was arrested without incident around 12:30 p.m. on the mezzanine of subway stations A, C and E. He was not immediately charged.

Sources say the teen was sitting and carrying his cell phone at the train station with the gun next to him when uniformed transportation police noticed him.

The AK-47 was unloaded, but the teenager had a fully loaded magazine in his backpack and a gas mask, sources said.

Saadiq told police it was legal to bring an unloaded rifle with separately stored ammunition into New York City, a senior law enforcement agency said.

The FBI was also involved in the investigation of the case, the sources said.

Woods said he had lost contact with Saadiq in recent years, but called him a good guy who loved to play soccer.

An Ohio man who identified himself as Saadiq’s uncle was stunned by the news on Friday.

“How the hell did you get to New York?” Rennell Mahone asked during a phone conversation with The Post before asking, “Did you have a gas mask at the subway station?”
