Alisa Andrews, 52, pleaded guilty Monday to s*xual assault and was sentenced to prison, followed by 10 years of probation.

As of fall 2019, Andrews had taught biology as part of a homeschooling program at Rogers Christian Church.

Police interview

Police interviewed the 17-year-old girl, who confirmed that she and Andrews were having a s*xual relationship.

Andrews had taught biology as part of a homeschooling program at Rogers Christian Church in Arkansas, and was also a director of a youth theater company

Victim Statement

Andrews was the victim’s biology teacher the semester before they became close, but he was no longer her teacher when the relationship began, according to documents. The teenager was also part of a local youth theater company run by Andrews.

The victim said Andrews had performed s*xual acts on her about 20 times over the course of several months.

The girl also said that she had made repeated attempts to end the relationship because she knew it was wrong, but Andrews threatened suicide, KATV reported.

Arrest and Chrged

Andrews was arrested in October 2019 on a first degree s*xual assault charge.

During the sentencing hearing on Monday, a prosecutor read a victim impact statement from the teenager, who described her struggles with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts that required therapy as a result of Andrews’ actions.

“Now I know that none of this is my fault, and I want you to know that you no longer have power over me,” the girl wrote. I’m no longer the broken girl that she was. You don’t know anything about the person I am today and you never will. I hope you know that I do not forgive you, and I hope I never do. ‘

The presiding judge prohibited Andrews from having unsupervised contact with minors, except with her own children.

Upon completion of her sentence, the former teacher must register as a s*x offender.
