Who is Adam Watts ?

A kennel owner died after being attacked by a bulldog three days before Christmas.

Adam Watts, 55, was savagely attacked by the great beast at lunchtime Wednesday at his farm near Dundee.

Five young children of a man who died in a dog attack were orphaned eight years after their mother lost a battle with cancer.

A second tragedy struck his family Wednesday afternoon when Adam Watts was maimed to death outside Dundee.

Attack

Tragically, the deadly attack orphaned her five children, four of whom are teenagers and one is just 10 years old.

Her mother, Eileen, lost a valiant battle with cancer in February 2013, at age 46.

In 2018, the Daily Record recounted how the couple’s youngest son gained thousands of pounds in honor of his mother by walking over the Tay Road Bridge 20 TIMES.

At that moment, Adam couldn’t contain his pride in his son’s amazing feat of endurance …

He told us: “I am full of pride.”

“For one of them to witness this and have to try to get help is a stomachache.”

Police and paramedics rushed to the kennels shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday after a report of a large bulldog attacking Adam.

Mercy’s teams did their best to save the respected kennel owner, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

On his company Facebook page, Adam said he had 22 kennels and eight kennels.

He revealed that he had an enclosed exercise area where the dogs could have a “safe free run.”

He added that he often took dogs for a walk on lead, one animal at a time.

Facebook

His Facebook business page was filled with dog images showing his devotion to man’s best friend.

As news of his death spread, Adam received dozens of tributes from current and former clients and business friends.

Janine Sturgeon said: “Such devastating news of the passing of Adam Watts.

“Adam was the kindest and most thoughtful man out there helping dogs and no request was too much.

“Heartbreaking for his children and his family, of whom he spoke so often.

“Thank you Adam for everything you did and may you rest in peace.”

Wallace Vets in Dundee said: “It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Adam Watts of Juniper Kennels.

“Adam was the most caring man who overcame his passion for caring for animals and worked tirelessly to help give them a loving future with a new family.

“Our sincerest thoughts and condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.”

In 2018, Adam and his son were featured on local news and television after his youngest son Charlie put on thousands of pounds by taking a walk sponsored by Roxburghe House in Dundee, where his tragic mother received palliative care.

The schoolboy also completed a second 55-mile charity walk last year to raise money for the RNLI with Adam by his side.

Adam said at the time: “Proud of you Buddy and I know your mother would have been too.”

Last night, a Scottish Police spokeswoman said: “Officers received a report that a man had been attacked by a dog in Kirkton of Auchterhouse at around 1:10 PM on Wednesday 22 December.”

Emergency services came, however, the 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be presented to the Public Prosecutor.

They added: “He lived on the site at the kennels.

“He was always on the go, doing things like charity walks.

“What a sad loss of a great man.”

Writing on the Eileen Watts Tribute Fund website, Adam described his wife’s valiant battle with liver and bowel cancer.

He recounted how brave she was and how the Dundee Maggie Center supported the family.

Describing her fight, he wrote: “She immediately took a hateful attitude towards Cancer and was adamant that she would not stay, ‘as an uninvited guest at a party,’ as she put it.”
