YouTuber Adalia Rose Williams, who has been open with her fans about living with a rare genetic disease, has died at the age of 15.

Williams, who was diagnosed with Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome as a baby, also known as “Benjamin Button” disease, died Wednesday night, according to her Facebook page.

Adalia Rose, from Texas, was diagnosed with Hutchinson-Gilford progeria, a genetic condition also known as Benjamin Button disease, when she was three months old.

The condition, which affects fewer than 500 children worldwide, is categorized by extreme accelerated aging and has an average life expectancy of 13 years old.

As she grew up, she found fame on social media, racking up 2.91 million subscribers on YouTube and 379,000 Instagram followers.

Her family thanked Williams’ loyal fans who “love and support her,” and asked for privacy as they mourn her loss.

Williams was an avid YouTuber who also posted on other social media platforms. By documenting his life, he shed light on the realities of navigating the world while dealing with progeria, a chronic, progressive condition that he was diagnosed with at just 3 months old.

Currently, the syndrome has no cure and causes rapid aging, accompanied by slow growth and hair loss. According to the Progeria Research Foundation, around 400 children worldwide are currently living with the disease.

The Texas teen, who surpassed the average life expectancy for people with the condition by age 13, started vlogging in 2012. Uploading her videos to YouTube, she eventually amassed 2.9 million subscribers.

Not only did she post health updates, but she dabbled in makeup tutorials, dances, and skits with other members of her family.

“She touched MILLIONS of people and left the biggest mark on everyone who knew her,” she posted to her family on Facebook.

“She’s so small that you instantly think she’s going to be like a baby and you want to take care of her. But I didn’t realize that she’s 13 years old, and she’s just like any other smart 13-year-old girl. She was a bit cheeky!

“She said that she loves J.Lo, and that she likes to wear whatever J.Lo wears, and that she loves flowy fabrics and sparkles,” she said.

“Knowing that we have the ability to do something for them and celebrate them and make them feel good about themselves… I just wanted to make their birthday dreams come true,” she added.
